The latest BenQ-Siemens avaiaable in the market

BenQ-Siemens have announced three new mobile phones at 3GSM, including what they claim is the world's first HSDPA super-3G phone. The BenQ-Siemens EF91 supports HSDPA (and therefore download speeds of up to 3.6Mbps), and is already signed up by Vodafone and T-Mobile. As well as super-fast data rates, the EF91 also comes with a 3.2 megapixel camera, MP3 player and 262k colour screen.

Also announced by BenQ-Siemens were two other mobile phones, including the BenQ-Siemens EF51 (a mobile music phone) and the BenQ-Siemens S81 (a super-thin 3G phone at only 13mm).

BenQ-Siemens EF91 HSDPA Super-3G phone
The BenQ-Siemens EF91 HSDPA phone is clearly the pick of the bunch. With support for HSDPA, it's data transfer rates make fixed broadband seem slow. If you can afford it, data-heavy services such as video should be transformed. Apart from viewing personal photo and video shots in brilliant quality on the large, 2-inch TFT mobile display (240 x 320 pixels, 262,000 colors), the latest news and stock market prices can also be read conveniently on the Internet whilst on the move.

Music and video clips can be downloaded directly from the Internet onto the EF91 equally effortlessly via HSDPA technology. All multimedia content can be stored on microSD cards, which can simply be plugged into the slot provided on the mobile phone. The built-in MP3 music player boasts novel 3D surround sound that makes for realistic sound effects.

BenQ-Siemens EF51 Mobile Music Phone
The BenQ-Siemens EF51 is a rather tasty looking mobile music phone. It's a candybar phone with a flap at the front. When closed, it shows music controls, and when opened, standard mobile phone keys.

All music files can be transferred from a PC onto the mobile via the USB cable supplied. However, any favorite song can also be recorded directly from the built-in radio. Interchangeable miniSD™ cards provide sufficient storage capacity for many hours of music.

A particularly convenient feature is the voice-operated music selection (Speech-to-Music™) function. Long-winded searching for the desired song is thus finally a thing of the past! Uncompromising musical enjoyment is ensured by the innovative music mobile’s 3D surround sound.

Finally, we have the BenQ-Siemens S81 super-slim 3G phone, which measures only 13mm in width. Movies and video clips can be downloaded or watched on the move in real time via a fast UMTS connection (data rate of up to 384 Kbps - to put that into perspective, that's a tenth of the speed the EF91 is capable of!) – and in superb quality thanks to video streaming and downloading in H264/AAC+ format. Additionally, music plays directly onto the mobile via UMTS-supported audio streaming or downloading in the formats MP3, AAC, AAC+, AMR and WMA and can be listened to anytime and anywhere via the stereo headset supplied.

The BenQ-Siemens S81 is also perfectly equipped for video calls with a second camera (VGA) above the large 2-inch TFT screen (262,144 colors, 176 x 220 pixels). Calls can then be made face to face in handsfree mode or with the Headset Bluetooth® Comfort (EU/UK) HHB-160/161 (available as an accessory) to friends and colleagues.
