Sony turns 140 character film scripts into cinematic reality with the new Bloggie™ Touch

Sony is celebrating UK creativity with the launch of the new Bloggie™ Touch by inviting the public to submit their film concept with a script of just 140 characters or less via Twitter or Facebook.

The ‘Shape it. Shoot it. Share it’ competition, will see selected pitches texted to Sony's teams of film students to turn into cinematic reality.

They’ll need to react quickly and get creative to be in with a chance of sharing the £10k prize for the best film with the person who came up with the idea.

Anyone submitting an idea that gets made will win a BloggieTM Touch, the latest Sony digital video cameranow available in the UK.

To kick off the campaign, Sony has enrolled two students in London, armed them with a Bloggie™ Touch, some sticky tape and a whole lot of imagination. Karl Te Aika, digital marketing manager at Sony, said of the campaign, “This film is a call to arms. We are looking for anyone with creative flair who can make the most of the HD capabilities of the Bloggie™ Touch.

With the Bookmarks feature people can select the best clips to upload later. It’s perfect for being able to just shoot all day and then quickly and easily share the best footage.”

What kind of ideas are Sony looking for? “Anything, but we want people to be bold, brilliant and original. The first film started with the idea of wondering what it would be like to be that penny glued to the floor. The possibilities are almost endless. We’re really excited to see what people can do with it,” continues Te Aika.
